Salem firefighters went to work on a single family dwelling fire on August 16, 2008. After a storm blew the area a local neighbor spotted the fire. The fire appeared to have started in the basement and did some damage to the under side of the floor framing ans subfloor. While venting the dwelling the firefighter fell through the comprimised floor to his waist. The firefighter was able to get out of the holw with some assistance from the interior crew. The firefighter was not injured as a result of the fall.
